Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF)

As a commercial service airport, Pangborn offers on-site ARFF services. Through a mutual aid agreement with Douglas County Fire District #2, Pangborn provides 24/7 staffing at the airport fire station, also known as Station 222. The firefighters stationed at Pangborn also respond to structural and wildland fires in the surrounding areas of Douglas County, but there is always ARFF capability on the airport during commercial flight operations.

Airport staff and Douglas County Fire District 2 volunteers must complete rigorous training to maintain their ARFF qualification, including annual live fire exercises.
